Unrivalled in its position as a worldwide leading product for over 25 years, Schlüter®-DITRA 25 is the unsurpassed uncoupling membrane for tile and natural stone installations.

We often get asked what the requirements are for the substrate prior to installing Schlüter®-DITRA-25 and this very much depends on the substrate, however, some general rules are:

• Ensure that the substrate is structurally sound, rigid, stable and load bearing
• Ensure that the substrate is clean of all contact inhibiting material
• Levelling must be carried out prior to installation of Schlüter®-DITRA-25
• If onto Gypsum based Screed then priming of the screed surface is usually required

(Gypsum based screeds need to be allowed to be dry and tested prior to tile installation. The surface should have had all laitance removed by sanding usually 7-10 days after installation. Priming of the screed surface should be carried out in accordance with tile adhesive supplier recommendations.)

What makes Schlüter®-DITRA 25 such a success is its ability to be used in a variety of applications, even on problematic substrates. It has been chosen by tilers, contractors and specified by architects for over 25 years due to its unparalleled success in installations worldwide. The key features and benefits include;

Uncoupling – neutralises tensions between surfaces
Crack Bridging – prevents movement and debonding
Waterproofing – CE marked waterproofing system
Vapour Management – interconnected air channels to help moisture evaporate
Load Distribution – provides high resistance
